Just A Stage: is a compilation of Jan’s humor columns on parenting, from pregnancy through driver’s licenses. Her two children still like her, although they may not have read the whole thing yet, and her son was none-too-pleased when he went to pick up a girl for a date and she was giggling over the “A Day in the Life of a Five-Year-Old” in which he played a starring role.
Murphy’s: 25 Years of Recipes and Memories is the story of Murphy’s restaurant in the Virginia-Highland section of Atlanta. Jan wrote the book with Tom Murphy, restaurant owner, and conducted 35 interviews with former employees and several well-known chefs who once worked at Murphy’s. Although her meetings with Tom were conducted over breakfast, she never learned how to adequately juggle a biscuit, coffee and a laptop.
Raising the Bar: Legendary Rainmakers Share Their Business Development Secrets contains profiles and client development advice from ten top lawyers in Atlanta. Jan conducted the interviews and ghostwrote the book, which also includes a DVD containing excerpts from the interviews. The profiles include such notables at Judge Griffin Bell, Governor Sanders and Bobby Lee Cook. The book will be published in early 2009.
Souper Jenny Cooks: contains the favorite recipes of Jenny Levison, Atlanta’s soup diva. Jan did not write or design this book, however she was the production editor, which meant she took the book to press. And she ate a lot of Jenny’s delicious soups, especially My Dad’s Turkey Chili. Now she can make it herself because she has the recipe. But she probably never will because going to Jenny’s is so much fun. This book was published in December 2008.
