“Remember that time in 9th grade when I told your parents you were studying with me when you were really doing laps around the Dairy Queen on the back of Jason Newton’s motorcycle? It’s payback time.”
Admit it. We’ve all done it – rented a vacation home with a group of friends or with your family and angled/schemed/plotted to get the best bedroom. What is a fair way to decide who gets the master bedroom with ocean view balcony and marble Jacuzzi tub, while the others get the bunk beds with Dora the Explorer bedspreads?
How about a home with six master bedrooms – each with its own terrace and luxurious bathroom? That’s what you’ll find at Falcon’s Nest, the newest home in the villa program on the exquisite Peter Island, the largest private island in the British Virgin Islands. This 8,000-square-foot home is set 350 above the Caribbean Sea and has a huge outdoor living space with two-tiered pool with a waterfall, large Jacuzzi and swim-up bar. Inside you’ll find a two-level great room, dining room that seats 12, nanny quarters, full exercise room and couples spa room.
And there’s no need to coordinate elaborate cooking and clean-up schedules either.
Your staff includes a personal chef, housekeeper, valet and butler, and Villa Manager Edoardo Rossi will oversee your stay. Edoardo will speak with you before your visit to stock your kitchen with items for your visit and bedding to your liking. And while you’re there, he’ll see to any other needs, whether it’s memory foam pillows, the new issue of travelgirl magazine, specially designed yoga mats or a chartered flight to play golf or fly to New York, he’ll provide whatever your heart desires.
“We once had a request to stock the kitchen with six different kinds of Oreos,” Edoardo said. “We didn’t even know there were six kinds! But we found them.” Another time he got a phone call at 2:00 a.m. It seems a group of gentlemen in one of the villas had a craving for several types of ice cream, so it was off to the freezer.
At just 1800 acres, this little gem of an island is a short ferry ride from Tortola. In addition to the villas, Peter Island Resort has only 52 guestrooms and three villas, along with a 10,000-square-foot spa, so even at full capacity it still feels like your own private island. Daily rates for Falcon’s Nest start at $8,000 a night, which includes three meals a day for up to 12 people. Traveling with a smaller crew? Try the Crow’s Nest, suitable for up to eight people, or the Hawk’s Nest, for up to six.
